Montefiore is expanding their after-hours nursing team and as such, a highly competent and professional After-Hours Supervisor is sought to oversee the delivery and continuity of clinical care. This role would suit an Registered Nurse who is available to work three to four shifts per week.

Reporting to the General Manager Residential Care Services this position plays a key management role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents, staff and visitors through;

  • Supporting the ‘after-hours’ operations of Residential Care at designated sites
  • Supporting and directing RNs, Team leaders, AINs and CSEs after hours
  • Providing incident management, investigation support and leadership under the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) including registering these in the MyAgedCare portal
  • Escalating serious issues and incidents to senior management in a timely manner
  • Supporting family and resident enquiries and feedback after hours
  • Supporting effective roster replacement ensuring adequate staff are available for upcoming shifts
  • Assisting Registered Nurses on the unit (medication administration) where operational requirements deem it necessary for safety

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse with current and unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • A minimum of four years’ post-graduate experience
  • Proven expertise in leadership, supervision, and management
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision-making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing clinical practice and service delivery
  • Contemporary clinical knowledge and experience in an aged care setting and knowledge of aged care nursing
  • Advanced communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong computer skills
