PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

ADL’s Center for Antisemitism Research (CAR) is seeking a research assistant to support a portfolio of quantitative research projects aimed at understanding and fighting antisemitism and hate. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing skills, experience analyzing large quantitative datasets, and substantive interest in antisemitism, prejudice, or bias.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Support ADL’s research on the nature, causes, and consequences of antisemitism and interventions to reduce it.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative data.
  • Write materials ranging from brief internal data write-ups to public-facing reports.
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Provide project management and logistical support.

Qualifications

Skills:  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of research design principles and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze data and clearly summarize key findings.
  • Facility with statistical analysis software (preferably R).
  • Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey platforms.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative findings to non-research-oriented audiences, both within and outside of ADL.
  • Familiarity with quantitative methodologies, such as multiple regression, factor analysis or other dimensionality reduction techniques, or clustering methods, or a demonstrated desire to learn.
  • Experience with data visualization, or demonstrated desire to learn.
  • Knowledge of antisemitism specifically and/or prejudice generally.
  • Experience or familiarity with program and impact assessment a plus.

 

Work Experience:  

 

  • The ideal candidate can demonstrate the research experience necessary to meet the skills requirements. Research experience may come from prior employment, internships, or applicable academic work.

 

 Education:  

 

  • BA in Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, History or related field or equivalent work experience required.

 

Work Environment: 

  • ADL is a hybrid environment, this role may require 3 days in person.

 

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $40,000 to $52,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in new York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
