Position Summary:       

The Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University is seeking to fill an Assistant Professor position in the School-Clinical Child Psychology Program. The position is a 9-month tenure-track faculty line beginning in September 2025. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with training and scholarship in school or clinical child psychology.

Position Responsibilities:

The position will involve:

  • teaching graduate courses in school or clinical psychology
  • maintaining an active research program
  • mentoring doctoral student research projects
  • supervising practicum experiences
  • participating in service to the program and University

Experience & Educational Background:

The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree in school psychology (APA-accredited or NASP-approved) or combined school-clinical psychology (APA-accredited). Candidates with degrees in clinical psychology (APA-accredited) will also be considered, particularly those with research and teaching qualifications in the area of school-based mental health.

Skills & Competencies:

Candidates will be prioritized who could teach courses in the areas of cognitive and psychoeducational assessment, school consultation and interventions, or developmental and adult psychopathology. Applicants with graduate teaching experience and a strong record of research productivity and potential for external funding are sought.

The ideal candidate should be a licensed psychologist or license eligible in New York State.

Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology is located on Yeshiva University's Resnick Campus approximately 7 miles from Manhattan, New York. The School-Clinical Child Program is an APA-accredited and NASP-approved Doctor of Psychology Program. Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology offers three APA-accredited doctoral programs: Clinical PsyD, School-Clinical Child PsyD and Clinical PhD with an emphasis on Health Psychology, as well as an MA in Mental Health Counseling; MA in Special Education; and MS in Marriage and Family Therapy. The Max and Celia Parnes Family Psychological and Psychoeducational Services Clinic is the training center of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and offers low-cost, state-of-the-art mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in the Bronx and the Greater New York City area, especially those who cannot otherwise afford or access these services within the community.
