The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is seeking experienced and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team of professionals in the Nursing Department. Day, Evening and Night shifts available!

CNAs at Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation are responsible for performing personal care and selected procedures for the residents and patients under the care of a licensed nurse.

Key Tasks:

  • Performs care and provides assistance as needed to residents
  • Evaluates and reports residents' basic needs
  • Reports changes in resident's condition to charge nurse
  • Measures and records resident functions
  • Assists residents in following prescribed restorative nursing program
  • Answers call bells promptly
  • Maintains resident living area in clean and orderly condition,
  • Assists with admission and discharge procedures
  • Participates in facility committees as appointed
  • Assists in orientation of newly assigned personnel

 

  • Current and valid NYS CNA certification
  • Recent, relevant experience working with the geriatric population a plus
  • Prior experience working in a long term care, rehab or nursing facility
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Someone who likes to be part of a team; contributes as an active team member; helps out the team as needed
