Alpert JFS is looking for a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist who is interested in making a positive contribution to their local community, to join our busy, interdisciplinary, community based mental health team with locations in West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. The Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment and crisis intervention services for child/adolescent clients who present themselves from psychiatric evaluation with a broad range of mental health needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs psychiatric evaluations, as needed, for purposes of diagnosis and treatment planning
- Develop a treatment plan according to the needs of the client’s needs and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder
- Treat clients using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication, and adjusting treatment where necessary
- Evaluates client regarding their need for psychotropic medication and prescribes medication when appropriate
- Write and maintain patient and clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered
- Works with insurance and other third parties, when necessary, in order to provide medical clinical information on behalf of the client
- Opportunities to work in a collaborative care model - work with a team of clinicians to consult and advise on behavioral health
- Charts client’ treatment and progress in accord with state and NCQA regulations and in keeping with accepted community standards. May develop and conduct psychoeducational classes and groups.
Part time 10-25 hours per week
Full time 30-37.5 hours per week

- Graduation from an approved medical school.
- Psychiatric residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training in a program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Medical Association.
- Certification/Licensure: Florida license to practice as a physician.
- A certification in general psychiatry and licensure in child psychiatry.
- Active DEA license from the State of Florida.
- Experience and confidence in identifying and implementing evidence-based practices in mental/ behavioral health.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinically relevant experience treating children and adolescents in a variety of settings.
- A minimum of 1 year providing medication management service to child and adolescent patients with substantial competence in psychopharmacology.
- Experience working in an office setting with thought leader psychiatrists and psychologists and clinicians.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a crisis.
- Proficient notetaking and record-keeping skills.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for virtual consultations.
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Comfortable and familiar with the cultural needs of a Jewish population.
