The Day Habilitation Director is responsible for overseeing and managing our day habilitation program for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves designing and implementing engaging programs that promote personal growth, social skills, and community involvement. The director will lead a team of dedicated staff, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with all regulatory standards. The position requires collaboration with participants, families, and community organizations to develop individualized plans that meet the unique needs of each participant. The Day Habilitation Director will also manage program budgets and conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of services, making data-driven adjustments to enhance program outcomes. This leadership role is essential in fostering a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their personal goals.
ABOUT YOU You demonstrate an understanding of knowledge specific to technical, professional, or administrative work in managing the day-to-day operations of the Day Habilitation program. You within available guidelines but know how to adjust or adapt methods depending on the members' needs. You know who to contact in the event of an emergency, review and update Safeguards/Individual Plan of Protection (IPOP) as needed, respond to safety issues with an appropriate level of urgency, and ensure levels of supervision are implemented as per service plans
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Manage the daily operations of the Day Habilitation program
Handle incident management
Provide overall program supervision for individual services and the staff delivering those services.
Ensures documentation and compliance
Track professional development and required training for all staff
Monitor participant satisfaction and address program issues
Participate and manage Life Plan Meetings, Staff Action Plans and Safeguards
Collaborate with other JCC Departments for program ideas and activities reflective of individual and program need.
Foster independence among individuals served
Supervise and hire staff, student interns and volunteers
All other projects as assigned by supervisor
Implementation and supervision of agency-wide procedures on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Provide effective and regular communication with staff/parents and other service providers
Conduct outreach to recruit new program members
Conduct bi-monthly staff meetings and required trainings.
Oversee purchases of supplies
Manges financial aspects, including petty cash and other expenses
Report progress and areas of concern
OUR REQUIREMENTS
At least three years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities
Experience developing creative programming for persons with disabilities
Knowledge of OPWDD funding and regulatory guidelines
Ability to collaborate with other agencies and community at large
3 years’ supervisory experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
SALARY
$60-$65k
