Scheck Hillel Community School is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable full-time Director of Information Technology who will be responsible for ensuring that the technology infrastructure and systems effectively support our innovative academic program and the School’s daily operations.
The Director, reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, will collaborate with the leadership team, faculty and staff to further develop and manage the technology roadmap for short and long term improvements to the school’s technology plan, incorporating innovative technologies that support teaching, learning and administrative operations. The Director will possess in-depth technical expertise and provide strategic leadership, planning, and management to all areas of information technology and work collaboratively with academic leadership to develop effective strategies for integrating technology into the curriculum. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the school’s IT & Audiovisual Team.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of all technology architecture and systems and services including servers, wired and wireless networks, backup, staff and student devices, software, printers and peripherals, remote access VPNs, VoIP phones, information security, web content filtering, and data warehousing
Develop, execute and manage a departmental vision with day-to-day, annual and long-term IT plans, including a multi-year school technology plan with periodic reviews
Develop schedules and milestones to track progress of technology implementation Establish, administer and communicate policies, procedures and goals
Administer IT purchasing and asset management
Oversee point of contact and define troubleshooting responses for any technical issues including connectivity, computer hardware and software, printers, and applications
Support Faculty and Staff in implementing and learning to use technology
Ensure seamless network operations, including server maintenance, wired and wireless bandwidth maximization, connectivity, uptime and speed
Oversee backup system and processes for data and files and provide support for other technical systems including the school’s website and student information system (Blackbaud).
Administer IT purchasing and asset management
Negotiate agreements and manage relationships and contracts with IT vendors, consultants and suppliers
Develop and manage annual IT budgets and oversee grant processes and implementation
Ensure IT security, purchasing, risk management, disaster recovery, and planning processes are in place
Oversee maintenance of Windows, Apple and Chromebook devices and deployment new devices to students and faculty/staff, as needed
Maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity plan to protect the school’s systems and data including adjustments to firewalls and other detection systems
Maintain, test and improve the data recovery plan
Maintain community access to school technology resources, and define policies for supporting same.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with those you support including faculty, administrators, students and parents

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the management, development, installation, and maintenance of information systems, minimum of a Bachelors degree or higher with a concentration in the fields of Information Technology/ Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field/experience. Experience managing technology systems in a school environment a plus. Supervisory and team management experience essential.
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication as well as customer service skills, the ability to supervise people and manage programs; forecast and manage complex budgets and become a contributing member of a dynamic and forward-thinking learning environment are all required.
Project Management, Security Systems, and Network certification preferred. Experience with Project Management, Security Systems, and Network certifications preferred as well as Blackbaud, Microsoft Office, Apple, Google apps for Education and Windows Servers, Fortinet & Cisco Networking environments, current network/server technologies, data backup strategies, and security issues. Preferred Certifications include: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert , CCNA, Network+, Security+, CISSP, GIAC/GCIH, PMP+, Google project, helpdesk, etc…
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, Work on-call and after hours

Frequently moves around the campus, works at a desk for extended periods of time; ascends ladders, etc.
