Position Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology seeks a Division Administrator to provide administrative oversight and support for the divisions' financial, operational, and human resource functions. The division administrator will join the clinical operations team within the Department of Anesthesiology that supports the adult ORs at Barnes Jewish Hospital. An ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, effective at time management, prefers a dynamic environment, and is collaborative and inclusive.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages Division finances, including general funds, grant funds, budget preparation, analysis, and projection of revenues and expenses.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements clinical operations initiatives in collaboration with the Chief. Develops and maintains efficient procedures and oversees administrative operations.
- Supervises the management of personnel, maintains records, and makes hiring recommendations, evaluations, counseling, and terminations.
- Acts as liaison between the central department and the faculty and staff members within the division.
- Performs payroll function for division, identifying and assigning sources.
- Works to ensure compliance with laws concerning personnel administration, coordinating response and assistance when resolving personnel issues.
- Assists with special projects as needed.
- Prepares reports as requested.
- Oversees maintenance of department records.

Salary Range
$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
