Summary





 


Position Summary    


To perform environmental cleaning services for the Institution following standards established by Industry Standards, ES Department, and Infectious Control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.




Essential Duties    



  1. Performs cleaning functions for area(s), assigned to them each day, which includes but not limited to: vacuuming carpets; dust mopping tile floors; cleaning and disinfecting bathroom surfaces; damp wiping surfaces; wet mopping tile floors; using properly diluted chemicals; high dusting; using the right cleaning equipment and supplies for each area; and trash removal from the area(s) they are cleaning.

  2. Removes any biohazard waste containers throughout the facility, as instructed by the ES Supervisor, Shift Team Lead or Manager. 

  3. Performs specialty cleaning functions for area(s) assigned to them each day which includes but not limited to: projects such as wall and window washing, cleaning areas that have been vacated, vent cleaning, sweeping stairwells, vacuuming elevator tracks, shower and tile scrubbing, and special disinfecting cleaning.

  4. Observes the facility to help identify potential problem areas and reporting facility or equipment malfunctions, suspicious persons, and safety hazards to their ES Supervisor, Shift Team Lead, or Manager.

  5. Assists coworkers on requests for setting up or rearranging furniture for meeting in conference rooms, setup of audio-visual equipment, and furniture &/or equipment moves as assigned by the ES Supervisor.

  6. Is responsible for picking up materials to be recycled or shredded throughout the campus.

  7. When assigned, performs linen functions to all patient care areas by delivering, removing,  and reporting weights of linen removed.

  8. Performs cleaning functions for assigned areas which include: shampoo extraction of carpeting and furniture from spills and stains.

  9. Performs stripping and waxing tile floors, spray buffing and bonnet cleaning of floors, as assigned by ES Supervisor.

  10. Part of the snow removal team using a shovel or small tractor to keep walkways and building entrances clear.


Other Duties    



  1. Helps with major cleaning caused by facility problems such as; floods, water pipe breaks, cafeteria spills, accidents, etc.

Minimum Qualifications



  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  2. Work Experience: One (1) year of previous floor technician experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting required.  

  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: None.


 


Salary Range: $18.29 - $19.00
