FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SPECIALIST - COURT EVICTION PROGRAM

Job Summary:

Coordinates distribution of funds to individuals and families requiring emergency financial assistance.

 

Primary Job Functions:


  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with clients to determine nature and degree of needs including personal, financial, family, adjustments, employment, food, housing and other basic needs.

  • Secure information on financial and social factors contributing to client’s situation.

  • Determine eligibility for emergency financial assistance funds and services.

  • Refer clients to appropriate JFCS and community resources.

  • Enter case activity into Client Track, HMIS and ECR within 24 hours.

  • Staff cases with supervisor; reconcile and report on discrepancies and problems.

  • Distribute client satisfaction and follow-up surveys to Financial Assistance clients, per grant specifications.

  • Run JEA maintenance of housing report on sample of Financial Assistance and clients, per grant specifications.

  • Maintain documents and records for audits, in compliance with funder, JFCS and COA standards.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required. A High School Diploma is required.

Experience: One year experience in finance, business, or social services environment including presentation skills. Knowledge of group dynamics and skills in leading group discussions.

 

Other Requirements: 



  • Clear a Level II background screening.

  • Clear a reference check (professional and personal).

  • Clear a local background check from Duval County and the County in which you reside.

  • Clear a substance abuse screen.

  • Provide a copy of all degrees/diplomas prior to your first day of employment.

  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check.
