We're seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and provide exceptional dining experiences for our campers and staff.

Job Summary:

As Kitchen Manager, you'll oversee daily kitchen operations; manage ordering, inventory, and food preparation, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and kashrut (kosher) protocols. You'll work closely with our cooks and international staff to create a warm, inclusive environment aligned with Jewish values.

Responsibilities:

Food Service and Operations

1. Manage day to day operations such as ordering, inventory, food preparation, and presentation.

2. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training.

3. Maintain high food safety and sanitation standards.

4. Coordinate special dietary needs and allergies.

Kashrut (Kosher) Oversight

1. Ensure adherence to kosher protocols and guidelines.

2. Collaborate with our mashgiach (kosher supervisor) to maintain kosher standards.

Team Leadership

1. Lead kitchen staff, both domestic and international, fostering teamwork and respectful communication.

2. Ensure consistency in quality, taste, and visual appeal for every meal. Implementing efficient cooking techniques and effective time management.

Logistics and Budgeting

1. Manage food inventory, ordering, and supply chain logistics.

2. Monitoring and adhering to kitchen budget for food cost.

Requirements:

Experience and Qualifications

1. 3+ years kitchen management experience.

2. Knowledge of kosher protocols and Jewish dietary laws.

3. Food Safety Manager Certification.

4. Culinary arts degree or equivalent experience

Skills

1. Excellent communication and leadership skills with an ability to work in high pressure fast-paced environment.

2. Strong organizational and time management, experience with staff scheduling and task delegation.

3. Food safety and sanitation.

Camp Experience

1. Familiarity with summer camp operations (desired).
