POSITION SUMMARY:
 
Jewish Family Service of Cincinnati Area is hiring a part-time Program Specialist for the Orthodox community.  A qualified Program Specialist for this position is an individual who lives an observant lifestyle and can convey this through their passion and knowledge.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to proactively reach out to older adults in their homes, and other locations in which they reside.  You will play a key role in developing, implementing and the operations of K’vod Connects Orthodox programming, including conducting a variety of educational classes, social programs and events, as well as field trips. MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:
  • Engage directly with older adults within the orthodox community in a variety of living environments, fostering meaningful interactions and relationships.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to plan, promote, and implement programs that enhance the wellbeing of older adults.
  • Support and help coordinate intergenerational opportunities and connections.
  • Visit isolated older adults in the orthodox community regularly for one on one in person visits.
  • Connect Orthodox older adults to services and support that they may need through our JFS network, including social workers and other departments. Serving as a liaison.
  • Report directly to the K’vod Connect Program Manager
  • Connect with various stakeholders in the community. 
  • Perform additional duties as required, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and a commitment to the goals of K’vod Connect
  • Data entry and accurate record keeping of services provided.
CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of working with older adults and with Jewish community customs, traditions, and norms, with specific focus on Orthodox Judaism
  • High school GED/Diploma required; College Degree preferred.
  • At least 2-4 years working in an administrative/program coordinator role.
  • Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Canva, PowerPoint, and Zoom. Ability to quickly adapt to new software and digital tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with a knack for managing diverse and confidential tasks efficiently. 
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a proven track record of working effectively in a team setting. 
  • A joyful and enthusiastic approach to work, valuing the balance between having fun and maintaining a strong work ethic.
  • A commitment to the mission of JFS to provide high-quality services to those in  need.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to evolving program requirements and participant needs, with a readiness to adjust strategies and approaches as necessary.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, insurance, and access to a reliable personal vehicle for traveling off-site for program-related activities.
  • Availability for evening and weekend programs as necessary 
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. as well as stand, sit, reach, stretch for extended periods of time.
