Sefaria, a non-profit organization dedicated to building the future of Torah in an open and participatory way, seeks a full-time Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that Sefaria’s products meet quality requirements before launch. The QA Manager must be based in Israel and will report directly to the Director of Engineering. This position is based in Israel.
Our core engineering team is responsible for developing and maintaining Sefaria’s backend, API, website, structured data, research, cloud operations, and mobile apps. Over the last decade, the team has transformed the world of Torah learning with commitments to excellence in design, user experience, engineering, open data, and collaboration.
The QA Manager has overall responsibility for the quality and integrity of Sefaria.org as a product. Acting as the custodian of the product, they will focus on improving usability, developing and overseeing test plans, and ensuring that Sefaria's products meet the highest quality standards before launch. They will lead the QA efforts, including writing test plans, creating manual and automated tests, and coordinating with the engineering team to resolve issues.
We’re looking for a QA Manager who can not only identify and resolve issues but also anticipate potential problems in other areas of the product. They will design comprehensive test plans, ensure redundancy in testing before product releases, and make sure that resolved issues are reflected in future QA strategies.
We seek an experienced QA Manager with a proven track record of bringing products to market, a passion for our product, and fluency in both Hebrew and English.
The QA Manager will work closely with Sefaria’s entire engineering team, based in Israel, and our worldwide open-source community.
The QA Manager can be based anywhere in Israel. This is a remote position that will require travel to a central location in Jerusalem for team meetings and events. Since sefaria is a global organization, some work outside of regular business hours to overlap with our US-based team members will be required. There will be opportunities to meet in person with Israel-based colleagues.
