RNs at Parker Jewish Institute are responsible for coordination and implementation of resident care on assigned units. Reporting to the Head Nurse or Assistant Head Nurse, RNs may also supervise nursing assistants and LPNs while providing outstanding patient-centered care.

Key Tasks:

  • Supervise assigned staff members
  • Obtain and record initial assessments, and develops and modifies nursing plans and care priorities
  • Collaborates with other health professionals in the plan of care
  • Monitors and evaluates patient progress and conditions requiring intervention
  • Administers medications and treatments
  • Assists with diagnostics tests and procedures
  • Participates in resident and family education, as well as discharge planning
  • Keeps CCP current
  • Investigates and reports on problem situations
  • Transcribes physician orders

  • NYS license as a registered nurse
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • Prior experience in a long term care or short term rehabilitation setting strongly preferred
