Overview.


Knowing Technologies (KT) is an IT services partner providing products and services to K-12 schools. KT’s customer base is concentrated in California, particularly in the San Francisco Bay and Los Angeles metro areas, and also serves schools in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and New York. KT specializes in supporting the full-spectrum IT planning, implementation, and support needs of public and private K-12 schools. KT’s partnership model stands out against traditional IT-managed services vendors due to its expertise and fluency in school-specific environments and their related needs. KT focuses on enhancing the educational experience, ensuring safety and security for students and teachers, and ensuring IT reliability and performance. 


Historically, KT’s growth strategy has been regionalized to provide dedicated, on-site support staff. Accordingly, it has followed a passive marketing strategy, mostly focused on word of mouth and referral opportunities. Despite its focus on a few metro areas, advocates and positive brand recognition in the K-12 market have led to increasing interest across a broader swath of the U.S.  


The typical profile of a KT customer is a private, independent school with 400-600 students, though some customers are smaller or larger. Many customers are private, faith-based (Jewish, Catholic, or Christian) schools. KT could also support individual public and charter schools or small school districts, providing access to a larger segment of K-12. 


Role. 


Knowing Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced K-12 growth leader to join as a member of the KT leadership team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the K-12 schools and IT software and services space. The Senior Director, Demand Generation and Marketing will focus on four strategic domains:


(a) market awareness and lead generation; 


(b) branding and messaging;


(c) field marketing; and


(d) customer acquisition lifecycle.

This role will be a great fit for someone with a passion for education technology who is equally comfortable leading and doing. Initially, the Senior Director will build and lead a go-to-market team. 


Qualifications. 




  • 8+ years experience in the education technology space, preferably within or adjacent to K-12




  • 3+ years experience managing a sales or marketing team




  • Strong track record of developing and executing highly successful go-to-market plans




  • Entrepreneurial and/or startup experience is highly preferred




 Classification and Compensation. 




  • Reports to CEO




  • Exempt, full-time




  • Salary Range: $130,000 - 160,000 per year plus bonus and benefits
