Position Overview:

In collaboration with San Diego County Child Welfare System’s commitment to reducing the disproportionality of African American/Black and immigrant/refugee families who are CWS involved, the Family Support Liaison Program (FSLP) aims to support parents and caregivers as they navigate the Child Welfare System (CWS). We help families to reunify with their child/ren, as well as to reduce future CWS involvement of families enrolled in the program.

The Wraparound Coach is responsible for supporting FSLP staff (including Family Support Specialists, Parent Partners, and Youth Partners) in the Wraparound learning process; educating the staff on every phase of the process and providing support and feedback to ensure that staff are implementing each phase with high‐fidelity. This process occurs through a series of documentation reviews, role‐play activities, and on‐site observations in the family home. The coach engages each staff team member individually and gives them ongoing feedback about their practice.

Additionally, the C.A.R.E.S Wraparound Model requires that data is collected to ensure that the process is outcome‐driven. This attention to both process and outcome ensures fidelity to the model. This position will act as a lead and provide additional supervision and support as needed, including occasional on‐call support to families served, and participate in quality improvements processes when indicated.

This position may meet with staff and clients in client homes, at a neutral location in the field, or at JFS or CWS offices. Wraparound Coaches will prioritize being client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, outcome-oriented, and time specific.

Face-to-face work with staff and clients is required. Please note that all reasonable safety precautions will be taken.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Wraparound subject matter expert to lead, coach and develop staff to excellence in this model. Collaborate with C.A.R.E.S. Replication Team at the National Center for Innovation and Excellence (NCFIE)

  • Promote an individualized, family-driven, community-based, culturally competent, and trauma-informed system of care

  • This position will assist with complex cases when indicated. While this position is not expected to maintain a caseload of families, the Wraparound Coach should be prepared to support clients as needed during staff absences. This position will model and provide leadership of strong relationships and consensus building with family members, family partners, providers and the community

  • In partnership with program manager, this position will conduct reviews of case records, ensure consumer satisfaction, and use of wraparound fidelity tool is incorporated into every meeting

  • This includes the ongoing review of care plans to ensure they have clearly defined outcomes.

  • Provide coaching and training in Wraparound to new and current staff, with support from the NCFIE C.A.R.E.S. Replication team

  • Foster and maintain ongoing relationships with family members, PSWs and CWS staff, other providers, and community resources to support staff, families, and the program

  • As needed, support program manager with staff scheduling and administrative support functions, such as monitoring staff mileage reimbursement requests and reviewing paperwork

  • Co-facilitate or facilitate case conferencing with staff, and at the direction of program manager

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete case records and program fidelity notes with integrity and in line with the quality standard set by supervisor
