Hillel International is seeking an experienced Associate Director for Grants to join the team responsible for awarding grants to our Campus Hillels. We are looking for a dynamic professional to help us strategically utilize our resources to positively impact campus life in line with our mission, vision, and goals. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in grant-making with the ability to develop compelling grant applications, understand reporting requirements, and tell impactful stories about the benefits of our grants. The Associate Director will work closely with all members of the Grants Team to effectively plan and implement Hillel International’s grant programs. 

What You’ll Do

Grant Design:

  • Strategize on how to design our grant programs to have the most impact.
  • Draft grant applications to ask the right questions and collect the best information for informed decision-making.
  • Develop reporting requirements to ensure proper measurement of grant goals.
  • Evaluate the success of grants and write narrative reports on grant impact.

Grant Administration:

  • Assist in managing the grant-making process from the time the grant application is approved for entry into the Grants Management System, Fluxx, to the conclusion of the grant, including grant evaluation.
  • Support the consolidation and centralization of all our grant programs.
  • Input and maintain information in Fluxx, as well as on tracking documents.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Grants Management and the VP for Measurement & Grants to provide visibility and timely updates to senior leadership.

Project Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of grants by meeting regularly with program leads to ensure that projects are progressing.
  • Track grant program budgets accurately in Fluxx and ensure they are not exceeded.
  • Collaborate with program teams to create timelines and plans for taking program grants from inception to reports and payments.

Stakeholder & Community Relations:

  • Collaborate with grant program leads to ensure effective and efficient administration of program grants.
  • Partner with field professionals to analyze and implement new processes based on identified needs.

Who we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of work experience with at least 2 years experience in grant-making.
  • Experience using a Grants Management System; Fluxx is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture as well as the details. 
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and someone who thrives as a team member.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and adapt quickly.

What You’ll Get 

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $75,000-95,000
