The Audiologist is responsible for administering diagnostic audiological tests that allow the differentiation between types of hearing disorders. The Audiologist will provide hearing aid testing, selection and fitting to all populations. Also, provides comprehensive diagnostic testing including ABR, ENG, ECOG, ASSR and other tests as needed. The Audiologist counsels’ patients regarding test results and reviews options which best meet their hearing care needs.

 

The successful candidate will join six audiologists, six otolaryngologists and approximately 30 AuD students in a large, multi-disciplinary, academic medical center environment. The audiologist will be expected to supervise AuD students and collaborate successfully with caregivers in a variety of specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Pediatric and adult diagnostics to include otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone and speech audiometry for self-scheduled patients and ENT clinical coverage
  • Hearing aid evaluations and fittings
  • Hearing aid follow-up evaluations and programming
  • Ear mold impressions
  • Cerumen removal
  • Vestibular diagnostics and treatment (including Videonystagmography, evoked potentials, and dynamic platform posturography)
  • Auditory Brainstem Response evaluations (threshold search and neurodiagnostic testing)
  • Implantable hearing device evaluations and programming (including Baha)
  • Cochlear implant evaluations and programming

Qualifications

  • AuD or Master’s degree in Audiology, possess the CCC-A credential and be eligible for Kentucky and  possess current Kentucky licensure in audiology.
  • Prefer a minimum five year of experience.

The office environment with frequent exposure to electricity, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, infectious waste, fumes or gases, radiation, occasional exposure to laser and constant exposure to blood borne pathogens and biological.
