Who We Are:

The Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle (JDS) is a Jewish community Day School serving approximately 100 children, Early Childhood through 8th Grade. Our gorgeous seven-acre campus is located east of downtown Seattle, in the Crossroads area of Bellevue - just two miles south of Microsoft's main campus. Our inquiry-based learning program fosters critical thinking, problem solving, confidence, collaboration, leadership, innovation and more all in a global learning environment.

JDS faculty members are a collaborative team of reflective, innovative, and passionate educators focused on nurturing students’ individual identities, an inquiry mindset, respectful and collaborative relationships, and an appreciation of diversity, through a values-based approach and a strong social-emotional foundation. JDS was founded in 1980 by a small group of community leaders who longed to provide an exceptional values-based, 'whole child' education delivered in a Jewish environment.  JDS, the region’s first community day school, opened with 32 students as a Kindergarten through 2nd Grade school in the former Temple De Hirsch Sinai facility in Bellevue.
