Seniors At Home offers a wide range of services to help older adults live safe, healthy, and independent lives, including home care, personal assistant services, companionship, and specialized dementia and palliative care. We provide the Bay Area’s leading continuum of care for aging adults.  


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Seniors At Home, the Director of Home Care is responsible for delivering high-quality home care services to older adults, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving program growth. The Director will lead a team of Home Care Specialists, Registered Nurses, Staffing Coordinators, and other support personnel to provide exceptional care. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in change management, capable of anticipating industry trends, adapting to evolving client needs, and implementing initiatives to expand program reach and impact. A strong, committed leader is essential to enhance the quality of life for older adults and foster a culture of service excellence.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range:  $130,000-$145,000 (depending on experience)
  • Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits
  • Employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility)

  • 16 holidays (10 federal and up to 6 Jewish holidays), annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Home Care program, including developing strategic direction, driving process improvements, and ensuring effective service delivery to elderly clients and their families, in coordination with the Director of Seniors At Home
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance initiatives utilizing a continuous quality improvement approach to ensure alignment with organizational standards and goals
  • Maintain high levels of client and family satisfaction by engaging in regular communication, addressing concerns promptly, and resolving issues effectively
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development teams to promote home care services, build referral relationships, and enhance brand awareness
  • Lead organizational change efforts to enhance service delivery, client care, and operational efficiency. Develop change management strategies to address market demands, regulatory changes, and organizational goals
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of home care professionals, including Staffing Coordinators, Home Care Specialists, RN Supervisors, recruitment staff, and caregivers, ensuring compliance with JFCS Private Duty policies and procedures
  • Provide proactive performance management through coaching, evaluations, corrective actions, and recognition. Foster a collaborative and client-centered work culture through ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities

 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Social Work, Gerontology, or related field; Nursing degree and/or master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in home care, aging services, healthcare management, or related program
  • Minimum of two years of experience in employee management and supervision.  Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing diverse teams
  • Previous experience in Federal, State, and local reporting requirements and regulations as it relates to elderly care
  • Experience in budget management, program development, business planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • The person in this position requires excellent written and verbal communication with agency employees, clients, and vendors and therefore must be able to exchange accurate information in varying situations. Is polite, friendly, and able to convey sometimes difficult conversations. Bilingual abilities in Russian and/or Tagalog are desirable but not required
  • Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, and previous experience in using electronic health records (HER) and home care management software
  • The position requires travel within the JFCS service regions and client locations, and therefore must have a valid CA driver’s license, proof of automobile liability insurance and access to a reliable transportation.
