Gan Ilan Preschool at Temple Isaiah is a play- and project-based, emergent curriculum preschool rooted in Jewish traditions. Gan Ilan "Garden of Trees" serves children ages 18 months-6 years old at this time. We are looking for an early childhood educator interested in collaborating with like-minded individuals to lead one of our preschool classrooms.
Salary: While exact Salary depends on experience starts at $25 for qualified candidate.
Qualifications:
12 or more units of Early Childhood Education courses; required
3 or more infant-toddler specific units; preferred
1 year + experience working in a collaborative team setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Candidate Characteristics and Experience:
Passion for early childhood education and child development
Enjoys working outdoors and incorporating nature into curriculum
Enthusiasm for working respectfully and collaboratively with children, families, and staff members in a classroom setting
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills
Desire to continue personal professional development in the field of early childhood
Available to work full time, Monday through Friday during our business hours
Essential Duties, including but not limited to:
Preparing, planning, and curating spaces, activities, and routines
Work in collaboration with a classroom team of teachers and the entire school team
Ability to follow Community Care Licensing regulations and school policies to maintain a healthy and safe learning environment for all students and staff
Participate in Staff Meetings, Teaching Team Meeting, and Professional Development as scheduled
Problem solving in a fast-paced, preschool environment, using resources at hand
Communicate with parents about children’s activities, needs, interests, etc. in a respectful, child-supportive manner
Communicate with Gan Ilan and Temple Isaiah staff, including the Director of Early Childhood Education, regarding children and programmatic needs, issues, etc. in a timely fashion
