We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Assistant to support the two heads of the Education Department at Congregation B'nai Shalom. Our vibrant preschool and religious school serve children from infant-age through 7th grade in Walnut Creek. We cultivate strong Jewish identity, immersing students in Jewish culture, traditions, Hebrew, and a love for Israel.

Our Religious School offers a twice-weekly supplemental program focusing on values, culture, holidays, and Hebrew language. We are committed to fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture that values teamwork, flexibility, and personal development.
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as the Education Department Executive Assistant. This is a vital role that supports the smooth operation of our administrative processes, ensuring efficient communication between parents, staff, and management. You will play a crucial part in creating a welcoming and organized environment for our preschool (75%) and our religious school (25%) community.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain student health and attendance records
Maintain order and payment records for ongoing purchases and special projects
Provide coverage during preschool staff breaks when needed
Assist Directors in daily operations and special events
Assist and support the preschool and religious school staff
Greet parents and visitors with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions

Qualifications:
Professional experience in supporting at the Director-level
A background in teaching or educational facilitation is valued, but not a prerequisite; ECE credits a bonus
Ease with word processing, spreadsheets, and communication technologies; creative design a plus
Basic understanding of Jewish holidays, culture, and values is a bonus
While these qualifications would be a plus, they are not mandatory for consideration.
