The Engagement Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with program and event efforts for the JCC Arts, Culture and Community Engagement department and will report to the Director of Engagement. Department programs include Jewish life, Community and Arts programming, LGBTQIA+, Family Programs, Teen Program, and Arts offerings. These efforts include supporting program and event operations for JCC, MACC, and rental users. Weekend, evening, and holiday hours will be required.
Engagement Program Coordinator Responsibilities
Acting as needed in typical entry-level program positions for internal and external programs such as program assistant, administrative support assistant, activities assistant, event management assistant, etc. depending on skillset and experience; In addition this role will serve as a co-teacher for the toddler program Practice Preschool.
Supporting community focused and intentional programming, strategic partnerships, and community connections as created and implemented by the programming team including: Parent Tot Classes, Weekly Enrichment Classes, Jewish Baby University, and Programming (Teen, Young Adult, Adult, Senior, LGBTQIA+, and Jewish Engagement);
Serving as an ambassador for the One J concept- providing connective opportunities for members and guests across the JCC. This includes facilitating and participating in many programs;
Providing a world-class experience and excellent customer service for all JCC and Mizel Arts and Culture Center users, members, patrons, and clients;
Ensuring JCC and Mizel policies and procedures and all relevant Federal, State, Local, and OSHA safety rules and regulations are followed; and
Assisting, monitoring, and providing customer support for internal and external programming and events.
Preferred Qualifications
These additional qualifications are preferred and will make candidates more competitive, but these are not required for the effective execution of the job responsibilities.
Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field;
Experience with community engagement, intergenerational engagement, LGBTQIA+ engagement, and/or event operations; and
Understanding of the Jewish Community and its constituents.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:
The position requires the candidate to remain in a sitting position for prolonged hours in an office environment. While performing duties, the candidate is often required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Candidate will often lift and or/move up to fifty (50) pounds.
Working conditions may include:
Being in an open (shared) workspace area;
Working outdoors for prolonged periods in sun and heat;
Working with young children/seniors; and
Sitting for prolonged periods in front of a computer screen.
