GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION |
The Gesher Human Services Financial Education Coach will assist individuals in developing a stronger understanding of basic financial concepts through the use of resources, trainings, workshops and one-on-one meetings in order for them to achieve financial wellness.

QUALIFICATIONS |
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred.
Other:
- A minimum of two years’ experience working with first time homebuyers and credit impaired individuals in a formal setting, or training in housing counseling or a related field preferred.
- HUD Certified Housing Counselor preferred (or must be secured within the 6 months of employment).
- Experience using federal and state foreclosure programs and loan modifications.
- Experience in obtaining credit reports and explaining details to clients including credit scores and other financial information. Experience in assisting clients in repairing their credit to become mortgage ready.6) Excellent group presentation skills and ability to engage teens and/or adults in training and counseling.
- Interpersonal and presentation skills sufficient to communicate with clients, staff, and the public. Composition skills sufficient to prepare program content for financial capability classes as well as preparation of status reports.
- Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and web-based databases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the scheduling and the delivery of seminar style training programs at Gesher as well as throughout the community including homebuyer education and financial education trainings, workshops and webinars as needed.
- Engage and work with community partners who have subject matter expertise as needed to enhance presentations and or provide additional resources.
- Using HUD’s Housing Counseling Rules and Regulations as a guide, respond to client inquiries as needed.
- Schedule individual sessions with clients as needed to address specific issues regarding financial/credit management. Refer to appropriate community agencies with associated expertise as appropriate.
- Participate in community outreach (i.e. presentations, fairs, etc.).
- Develop referral sources by building relationships with lenders, realtors, human service organizations, local governments, and other professional.
- Provide intensive specialized services for clients who have more serious credit repair issues or looming home foreclosure by obtaining and reviewing credit reports, negotiating with creditors and referring to outside resources as needed.
- Document performance of delivery of services by providing information including reports as required by administration and various funding sources. Maintain all documentation associated with client records and required statistical reports including entering participant demographic, program status and outcomes in databases as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS |
Environmental conditions:
- Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
- Ability to work in a confined area.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Physical requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting in required.
