POSITION SUMMARY
Sinai Akiba Academy seeks a full-time Health & Wellness Coordinator to join our vibrant, ECC-8th Grade learning community. The Health & Wellness Coordinator supports the health and wellness responsibilities of the school as well as responds to health needs as they arise in the student community. This multifaceted position involves administering first aid, developing health policies, managing student health, maintaining student and employee health records, coordinating emergency response, and undertaking a range of administrative duties. The Health & Wellness Coordinator collaborates with various school departments and external health agencies to ensure a holistic approach to health and wellness in the school community. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Our most successful candidate will love working with kids in a school environment, demonstrate compassion and care with students, be very organized, proficient with Google Suite applications and healthcare databases, and serve as a role model for Sinai Akiba Academy’s core values. The ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with students, parents and all members of the school community is a critical component of this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Health & Wellness Functions
- Deliver health care services, including emergency and routine care, to ECC-8th Grade students
- Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and address illnesses and injuries
- Conduct health screenings and assessments
- Counsel students on health-related matters
Administrative
- Develop, implement, and regularly update health and safety protocols
- Collaborate with school leadership to align policies with educational objectives and legal standards
- In concert with other administrators, serve as liaison to the LA County Department of Public Health and CDPH
- Work closely with Director of Marketing & Communications and Director of Human Resources in maintaining communication with employees, students and families
- Supervise medication administration policies, ensuring compliance with licensure standards
- Obtain, maintain, and update all student health and vaccine records in the Health Office electronic database (Magnus Health)
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers for students with special health plans
- Serve as a liaison between the school and external health agencies (as needed)
- Engage with academic directors, teachers, counselors, coaches, athletic trainers, and other student support members on student health issues
- Participate in meetings and committees related to student health and safety
- Document all health-related incidents and maintain comprehensive records in the Health Office electronic database (Magnus Health) & Blackbaud (as needed)
- Supervise and coordinate activities of the Health Office
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that all equipment and supplies for the Health office and for school-related health needs are stocked and available for use as needed
- File required health reports with state and local agencies
- Administer and monitor compliance with TB assessments and other health requirements for employees
- Oversee and coordinate First Aid/CPR/and all other recommended healthcare certifications for relevant ECC-8th grade employees
- Oversee and update infectious disease policies and protocols
- Implement culturally responsive strategies to promote behaviors that create a healthy community
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in school health practices through continuous professional development
- Coordinate all necessary materials, medications, health care forms of off-campus student trips (including day and overnight)
- Facilitate student access to health-related products, including but not limited to care products, general health and hygiene products, healthy snacks
- Manage the Health Office budget
- Complete accident reports for any students or adults involved in an accident on campus and inform the appropriate Division Director

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field
- Prior experience working in a public health or community health setting
- 2+ years’ experience with relevant administrative duties (clinic administration, hospital administration, or medical office administration) highly desired
- 2+ years’ school experience preferred but not required
- Experience establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer and online research skills with proficiency using MS Office and Google Workspace
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications issued by an authorized agency; employees must fulfill certification requirements within the first three (3) months of employment.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

In the spirit of pay transparency we share the base annual salary range for this position: $70,000 - $80,000. Annual base salary is exclusive of fringe benefits, retirement plan employer contributions or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Pay ranges at SAA are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at SAA, your final annual base salary will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full annual base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical for SAA in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
