The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens our next generations, the American Jewish community, and the State of Israel.


Job Purpose:

The  Activism manager shall lead All  Activism & Civic Engagement -based activities and efforts on the ground, activism committees, training sessions in the community, events, online campaigns and local mobilization efforts. Additional to the regional work, will take part in the national ConnecTivism team efforts.

The IAC  Activism manager position must sustain close relationships with members of the national Activism team, the local stakeholders in the region, and partner communities & organizations in the pro-Israel space. This is a 20 hour per week position and the IAC Activism manager will report to the IAC Orange County Regional Director.

 

 Activism Duties include and are not limited to:

  • Steering Activism Committee and handling relationships with committee members.
  • Train and educate community members through Activism activities.
  • Create an engaged activist community through events, workshops, speakers, and mobilization efforts.
  • Manage strategic partnerships and coalitions. 
  • Establish new relationships with Jewish Day Schools, campuses, synagogues, community groups, and other pro-Israel organizations.
  • Recruit and cultivate a local community of volunteers who want to engage in pro-Israel activities.
  • Growing the current activist pool by converting training participants into activists.
  • Monitor the region for antisemitism and anti-Israel behavior, and mobilize the community accordingly.
  • Collaboration with relevant IAC programs, e.g. Gvanim, Eitanim (teens), Mishelanu (students), etc.
  • Participation in both local and national team efforts to achieve organization goals.
  • Serving as a knowledgeable resource to community members in need, attending Israel-related events and providing support and strategic consultation when needed.
  • Leading national projects within the Activism team
  • Set up, plan & coordinate Calendar & meetings.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare documents for consideration.
  • Create & modify documents such as reports, memos, and letters.
  • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.
  • File and retrieve organizational documents and reports.

 

Skills/Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of related job experience.
  • Good operational and administrative management capabilities, and ability to lead processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Action-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive, energetic attitude.
  • Experience in non-profits operations, in the Jewish sector is a plus.
  • Highly efficient, organized, and detailed oriented.
  • Strong high-level planning and monitoring capabilities.
  • Event management experience a plus; marketing/public relations experience a plus.
  • Strategic thinker, creative vision, and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Ability to get along with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent leadership & strategic planning capabilities. Emphasis on superb interpersonal skills.
  • Proven project management capabilities and success in the execution of complex strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the pro-Israel activism landscape, including community mobilization.
  • Experience in public speaking and group dynamics.  
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills – writing is a plus.
  • Strong PR/marketing capabilities, including proficiency in social media platforms. 
  • Connection to Israel and passion for advocating for her.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, under pressure, as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent technological skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Social Media Platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) , and event management software (such as Eventbrite, etc.)
  • Fluent in English and Hebrew – full comprehension, speaking, writing, reading.
