About the Israeli-American Council: 

The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generation, the American Jewish community, and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the state of Israel. 

Job Purpose:

The IAC Shepher community center Sr. Manager will be responsible for professional planning, coordination and implementation of all events and activities at the IAC Shepher Community Center. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for supporting and developing relationships with donors, grant applications, and a full range of administration and logistics needs. 

The IAC Shepher community center Sr. Manager will report to the Regional Director.

 

Duties include and are not limited to:

  • General Operations of the Community Center – Oversee risk management, legal activities, insurance, organizational reporting, and monitoring. 
  • Supervise the Shepher Center security guards and maintenance personnel as well as other vendors serving the Community Center.
  • Facility Management – Manage the daily upkeeping of the Center, Including: vendor management for upkeep of the property, security, maintenance, management of storage facility, order equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and safety protocols.
  • Manage all projects of development improvement including: work with neighbors, work with city, work with contractors and  vendors, receive quotes, administer contracts and build project schedules. 
  • Administrate grants received for funding development improvements by Federal, State and Local governments, Jewish foundations, as well as private donors. 
  • Event and activities planning and Coordination – assist in the professional planning, coordination, and implementation of events for various programs that will accomplish the goals of each program. Ability to coordinate multiple events at the same time. 
  • Budget Implementation – Oversee event budget details and monitoring line items to make sure budget is on track. Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget. Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to Regional Director.
  • Social Media, Marketing, and Advertising – Implement marketing plan for all programs, as well as managing the general marketing tools for all IAC Shepher Community Center events and activities.. Manage email campaigns, the creation of marketing tools such as flyers, sponsorship decks, newspaper ads and other materials as needed. 
  • Administrative Support – Perform administrative tasks supporting the implementation of events and projects, including scheduling meetings, purchasing supplies, phone calls and emails, and other such duties. Preparation of organized and detailed reports. 
  • Promotion ‐ creatively promote the programs within the community. Develop relationship with Israeli American Jewish organizations in order to assist with sharing the program.
  • Participate in IAC staff meetings and training.
  • Help promote the organization’s culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the Shepher Center and the organization.
  • Prepare reports, memos, letters and other documents as needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or related field
  • 2+ years’ proven experience in an operations management position
  • Strong connection to both Israeli and American identities. Knowledge about it’s: people, culture, conflicts, history etc.
  • Strong budget development and oversight skills
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service.
  • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong social skills and experience in community building.
  • Highly efficient and organized.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  •  Good operational & administrative management.
  •  Ability to get along with all levels within the organization. 
  • Flexible to work on evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Must read, write, and speak Hebrew and English.
