Do you want to play an exciting role in promoting civil discourse about Israel?

The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore strengthens and nurtures Jewish life by engaging and supporting community partners in Greater Baltimore, Israel and around the world. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, strategic and creative Manager to direct the Insight Israel Forum, a bold strategy for Baltimore Jewish leaders to engage in respectful discourse about the nuances of Israel. This strategy is an innovative initiative of The Associated and a successful response to the complexities of Israel. 

Overview:

The paradigms and notions related to “Israel” and “Connection to Israel” have experienced tectonic shifts over the last decade or more, particularly over the last year. Baltimore Jewish community leaders are grappling with the changing conversations about Israel and how Israel factors into their Jewish identity, social activism, and conscience. 

The Insight Israel Forum provides a pro-Israel communal space for Jewish community leaders to learn, experience, dialogue and engage with Israel as Jews and Americans. The Forum engages individual leaders with diverse perspectives and ensures that they are exposed to a broad expanse of ideas, frameworks and viewpoints on Israel’s present and future.  It offers and facilitates opportunities for leaders to deepen and enhance their understanding of Israel, and to strengthen their ability to have respectful conversation about Israel.


What you'll do:

  • Oversee planning, development, implementation of the Insight Israel Forum with excellence, in partnership with IIF leadership including budget management, data collection, analysis.
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for the Baltimore Jewish community leadership to deepen and enhance our understanding of and connection to Israel, in Baltimore and though Israel travel
  • Work in partnership with lay leaders and key cross-community stakeholders to create an inspiring continuum of information, education, dialogue and opportunities for leadership that utilize both technological and in-person strategies to enhance knowledge, understanding and diverse connections to Israel
  • Develop a marketing strategy for the Insight Israel Forum
  • Establish evaluative measures and effectively communicate the opportunities and success of the Forum
  • Collaborate with The Associated’s Israel and Global team, The Associated’s agencies and synagogues to engage leaders in Israel dialogue opportunities
  • Task supervise the Israel Recruiter on specific IIF programming and logistics.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with a wide variety of people
  • Strong understanding of the intricacies of Israel education and dialogue
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to forge partnerships
  • Ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong political savviness
  • Ability to lead with excellence and be receptive to feedback from stakeholders

 

You also have:

  • 3-5 years of work related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms

 

 

Salary Range:  $69,300-$77,800; commensurate with experience.
