Compensation
We’ll pay you an annualized salary of $28,000 to $30,000 per year (for this part-time position).

About the Job
We need you to fill the role of JFS/Hillel Therapist. This is a part-time, non-exempt level position. The JFS/Hillel Therapist will provide individual counseling and therapy services to college student clients. During summer months, the JFS/Hillel Therapist will provide support to Shalom Austin JCamps staff and campers, including milieu and wellness support to teenagers and young adults, social emotional programming, and other behavioral health consultation. This position is grant-funded. You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:
• Counseling: Perform on-site clinical counseling services to Jewish Family Service clients and Texas Hillel students, in accordance with agency policies. Remote telehealth services may also be provided, but this position will primarily be in person. Clinical responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment implementation as appropriate. University students and emerging adults will be the focus area for this position, although services may also be provided to other age groups and demographics. Interventions may include individual therapy, case management, and crisis intervention. Maintain caseload and meet with clients routinely to review progress and accountability.
• General Direct Service: Provide additional social services to clients as needed, such as advocacy, service linkage, referrals, and collaboration with other providers. Maintain knowledge of current resources in the Greater Austin area.
• Collaboration - Partner closely with Texas Hillel staff, in addition to fellow JFS staff and all Shalom Austin staff to serve the needs of clients and community. Attend mandatory staff meetings, training, biweekly clinical supervision and offer coverage when needed.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: ?Maintain professional and timely documentation of services in electronic medical record including, but not limited to intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, recommendations, and other forms or documents that may be needed or required from time-to-time. Track and use program-related data to enhance service effectiveness.
• Community Outreach and Education: ?Collaborate with other institutions and professionals in the Jewish community, and in the Austin mental health and social services network. Engage in ongoing outreach and community engagement through implementation of psychoeducation, parent education through community events, collaboration, and networking.
• Masters or doctoral degree from accredited program in social work, counseling, psychology, or other behavioral health field
• Licensed or license eligible as a mental health provider in good standing in Texas
• Comfortable working with college student clients from a variety of social and economic backgrounds
• Experience counseling individuals and families with a variety of mental health needs
• Excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working?both independently and with?a multi-disciplinary team
• Comfort and competency in coaching and counseling virtually
• Cultural competence with Judaism or Jewish culture
Preferred Education and Experience
• Experience as a fully licensed practitioner
• Additional training, licensure, or certification related to the treatment of young adults, individuals, and/or families (such as LCDC, EMDR, Gottman certification, etc.)
• Experience working with college students and young adults
• Working knowledge of Greater Austin mental health and social service resources and referrals
