The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a leader in New Orleans early childhood education, a fun-filled summer day camp and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class or dance class. A place for children and teens to experience learning through enrichment classes, sports leagues, family activities, and summer camps. The JCC is built on Jewish values, but is welcome to everyone.



The mission of the Greater New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to promote and ensure the well-being of our Jewish community and to instill an understanding of Judaism and its heritage by providing a Center where all can enjoy, learn, experience and share in quality activities in a Jewish environment.



We are seeking a Lead Food Service Attendant to join our team at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center. As a Lead Food Service Attendant, you will work closely with the Food Service Manager in developing a strong team that plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience and  environment for our employees and visitors.



What You'll Do:



  • Coordinate staff schedules and ensure that all shifts are properly staffed.

  • Work with the Food Service Manager to ensure that staff is accountable for policies and procedures, including hours of operation, daily checklists, cash handling, inventory, and timesheets.

  • Coordinate with the JCC Operations team to develop and facilitate staff meetings and training.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.

  • Welcome guests who approach the concession stand and respond to all customer inquiries in a professional, friendly manner.

  • Take orders for food and beverages and prepare food items using appropriate quantities of ingredients, being sure to follow proper sanitation guidelines during food preparation and presentation.

  • Participate in the set-up of J Cafe, arranging inventory of supplies, and communicating shortages to the Food Service Manager.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:



  • Previous experience working in a Lead capacity.

  • Ability to work effectively with the Food Service Manager.

  • Effective leadership skills to build a strong, disciplined and results-driven team.
