The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a leader in New Orleans early childhood education, a fun-filled summer day camp and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class or dance class. A place for children and teens to experience learning through enrichment classes, sports leagues, family activities, and summer camps. We are seeking a Lead Food Service Attendant to join our team at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center. As a Lead Food Service Attendant, you will work closely with the Food Service Manager in developing a strong team that plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience and  environment for our employees and visitors.



What You'll Do:

• Coordinate staff schedules and ensure that all shifts are properly staffed.


• Work with the Food Service Manager to ensure that staff is accountable for policies and procedures, including hours of operation, daily checklists, cash handling, inventory, and timesheets.


• Coordinate with the JCC Operations team to develop and facilitate staff meetings and training.


• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.


• Welcome guests who approach the concession stand and respond to all customer inquiries in a professional, friendly manner.


• Take orders for food and beverages and prepare food items using appropriate quantities of ingredients, being sure to follow proper sanitation guidelines during food preparation and presentation.


• Participate in the set-up of J Cafe, arranging inventory of supplies, and communicating shortages to the Food Service Manager.

What You'll Bring:

• Previous experience working in a Lead capacity.


• Ability to work effectively with the Food Service Manager.


• Effective leadership skills to build a strong, disciplined and results-driven team.
