Lower School Judaic Studies Substitute Teacher

The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, a pluralistic community Jewish day school, seeks qualified candidates to fill potential openings for the position of Lower School Judaic Studies Substitute Teacher in grades Junior K-5 for the current academic year. Part-time and full-day assignments; compensation at $20.00 hourly..  Great job for positive people interested in being a part of a wonderful learning community.

 Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience and/or interest in developing skills with supporting students’ proficiency in Hebrew language and content knowledge in Judaic studies areas

  • Takes initiative

  • Highly responsible

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations

  • Work with students across elementary school grade levels

  • Collaborative team player

  • Patient, calm, and supportive in high-intensity situations

  • Excellent command of Hebrew language, native Hebrew speaker preferred

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Degree in Education or related field, preferred.

  • Fluency in Hebrew

  • Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ)

Work Environment:

  • Faculty may be asked to perform their work responsibilities on campus and/or at home. In both settings, the teacher is required to maintain a professional environment.

  • While on campus, classes may be operating either in person or in an alternative setting. Teachers are expected to be present and accessible for the agreed upon hours regardless of the setting.
