The Manager-Chaplain partners closely with the Regional Director of Spiritual Care to oversee the Spiritual Care Department at their assigned hospital(s). This position is responsible for the management, leadership, and administration of the work of the chaplains, training of chaplains, staff care and support, continuing pastoral education, and clinical pastoral education programs. This department is responsible for the management and quality of religious and spiritual care of the patients, families, and their visitors, as well as hospital staff members. In partnership with the Regional Director of Spiritual Care, this position ensures that the mission is integrated with the ethical values into patient care and spiritual care delivery. The Manager-Chaplain interacts and collaborates with leaders in the organization to plan, support and implement a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. The Manager-Chaplain assists with assessing the religious and spiritual needs & spiritual support needs of the client, and addresses or assist in addressing these needs whenever possible. Responsible for staffing chaplains at the assigned hospitals within Prime Healthcare recruiting, monitoring, orientation, staffing, assess competency, performance evaluation, and controlling the comprehensive, integrated resources for spiritual care for the hospitals or clinics. Provides oversight for the planning and implementation of educational opportunities for chaplains and supervision of any students or volunteers who may work and learn in the department. Prepares and reports appropriate data to Prime Healthcare leadership to monitor performance and progress of key initiatives and plans. Develops, implements, and evaluates pastoral education programs including clinical pastoral education, supervised ministry, advanced clinical pastoral education, and community clergy educational programs. Provides leadership specific to the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System relative to the role of psychosocial support leader and mobilization of spiritual care services. Performs related responsibilities as required.
