Description

Position Summary:

This person will identify, educate, research and cultivate new donors, foundations and corporate sponsors in Miami-Dade County and steward existing Miami-Dade donors and chapter members.

Role and Responsibilities

This person’s job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify and solicit potential major Miami-Dade donors from current agency database and develop additional private and corporate donors and event sponsors
  • Work in partnership with Philanthropy Director to identify new potential donors in Miami-Dade, coordinate tours and follow up on any recommended individuals or corporations
  • Develop and supervise both existing and future Miami-Dade Chapters, fundraising auxiliaries, fundraising events and community representative programs
  • Represent JAFCO at community events, networking forums, and philanthropic gatherings to raise awareness and build partnerships in Miami-Dade’s Jewish Latin community and foster engagement through culturally aligned initiatives
  • Coordinate acknowledgement of Miami campaign gifts and pledges and preparation of pledge payment reminders, pledge agreements and major gift forms
  • Create correspondence including solicitation proposals, meeting requests, and meeting follow up for Miami-Dade donor prospects
  • Schedule parlor meetings and other informational meetings to raise awareness within the community
  • Maintain accurate records of donor activity and communications using JAFCO database systems
  • Act as a liaison between donors and JAFCO leaders to ensure consistent communication and program updates  
  • Assist with monthly reports to the Board of Trustees
  • Assisting JAFCO development team at all major events to represent the capital campaign
  • Any other reasonable task requested by leadership

Physical requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree is required
  • Bi- or Tri- Lingual (English, Spanish, and or Hebrew)
  • Three to five years fundraising experience relevant to the job responsibilities preferred
  • Experience in and knowledge of fundraising, specifically capital campaigns
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic, and professional
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, volunteers, Board members, donors, and prospective donors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Excellent writing, analytical and research skills are essential
  • A high level of computer literacy, including experience using online databases and other sources to locate financial and philanthropic information
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to be flexible in handling changing priorities
  • Strongly prefer to maintain Bodily Injury Liability insurance of $100,000 per claim, $300,000 per incident on their personal automobile when driving clients
  • Clean driving record
