Teach Coalition, a program of the Orthodox Union, is dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to a quality Jewish education. Operating across seven states in the U.S., Teach Coalition advocates for equitable government funding and resources for yeshivas and Jewish day schools, making Jewish education accessible to all families.
Job Description:
As the Mid-Atlantic Director for Teach Coalition, you will oversee several local directors in the region as well as all regional community engagement activities (40% of your time). Your primary responsibility (55% of your time) will be to significantly grow major gifts ($10,000+ donors) for Teach Coalition within the states of Pennsylvania and Maryland. You will be instrumental in cultivating relationships, increasing financial commitments from existing supporters, and inspiring new community members to become significant financial supporters. Last, you will cultivate and recruit committee members for the Teach MD and PA executive committees (5% of your time). This is a remote position and reports to the National Fundraising & Engagement Director. Applicants must live in PA or MD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee local directors in the region to ensure that they are on track with their regional goals
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to increase community engagement and revenue through solicitations, donor cultivation, and stewardship.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, encouraging increased investment in Teach Coalition’s work.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit new donors to expand the organization’s supporter base.
- Meet quarterly and annual fundraising goals.
- Identify, recruit, and develop lay leadership for key leadership roles within the organization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date moves management records in the CRM system, including logging communications and meetings.
- Represent Teach Coalition at community events and forums.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in sales, fundraising, or a related field, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Must live in PA or MD.
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of initiating and maintaining contacts, relationships, projects, meetings, and events.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage multiple assignments with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Deep ties to the PA and MD Jewish communities and schools.
- Strong commitment to Jewish education and advocacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience.
The salary for this position is between $80,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience.
