                                Thursdays:         9:00 AM- 5:30 PM

                                Fridays:               OFF

Overview:

The Operations and Education Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Education to oversee, coordinate, and manage a variety of educational programs and events for students in grades TK–7. This role ensures that classes and activities run smoothly by handling logistics, scheduling, and communication, supporting, and encouraging teachers and staff in delivering high-quality educational experiences.

The Operations and Education Coordinator must have knowledge of Judaica and be proficient in reading Hebrew and be able to step into a classroom to teach, if needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Class Coordination and Support
  • Oversee and coordinate the scheduling of weekly classes for students, including:
    • Trope instruction for 3rd–7th grades with Cantors and teachers.
    • Class pods.
    • Music sessions and services on Sundays.
    • Recess schedules and electives for 5th–7th grades.
    • Coordinates schedules for Specialists (mindfulness, technology, and Hebrew tutors)
  • Ensure classrooms, materials, and schedules are prepared and communicated to teachers and staff.
  • Act as a liaison between staff, teachers, and families to support class operations.
  • Connect and get to know students and parents and teachers in the school and Temple.


  1. Event Planning and Coordination
  • Manage logistics for educational programs and events such as:
    • Shabbat and Havdalah programs
    • Grade-specific experiences (e.g., 6th-grade Tefillin Workshop, 7th-grade Haifa Restaurant and Holocaust Survivor brunch).
    • All-school celebrations (e.g., Purim Carnival, Yom Ha’Atzmaut).
    • Attends and coordinates weekend retreat for 5th-7th graders.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including:
    • Reserving rooms and outdoor spaces.
    • Submitting maintenance and janitorial requests.
    • Collaborating with security for gate access.


  1. Communication and Community Engagement
  • Prepare and distribute regular communications, including:
    • Teacher Tuesday updates for staff with schedules, reminders, and upcoming dates.
    • School calendar
    • Supporting teachers in preparing and sharing class-specific newsletters.
    • Partner with parents to create the best learning environment for students.


  1. Administrative
  • Works with the Director on staff agreement letters and helps hire and orient new teachers.
  • Works with the Director on planning and revising curriculum and teachers lesson plans.
  • Observes and gives feedback to teachers.


  1. Logistical Management
  • Maintain the central scheduling system (EMS) for classrooms and events.
  • Manage program materials, ensuring supplies and equipment are available and in place.
  • Prepare and distribute student awards and certificates for programs like STARS Shabbat, Mensch of the Month and Dog tags.


Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in coordinating educational programs and events, preferably in a Jewish context.
  • Proficiency in event planning tools and administrative systems (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with teachers, clergy, families, and staff.
  • Ability to collaborate with the office team daily basis.
  • Love of children.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and educational practices.
  • Ability to read Hebrew
  • Familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., EMS).
  • Experience and passion for working with educators and children in a school or religious setting.
  • Tech savvy.


Technology Expectations:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Google software (Docs, Forms, Sheets), EMS, and other Temple-wide software (training provided)
  • Desire and willingness to learn new programs
  • Knowledge of general office machines and telephone systems.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree


COMPENSATION

Range of $67,000-73,000 depending on experience and skills.
