Camp Barney Medintz, the summer overnight camp of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, is located on 540
beautiful acres in the north Georgia mountains, just 75 miles from Atlanta. Founded in 1963, Camp Barney serves more
than 1200 children, ages 7-17, and more than 300 staff from the United States and several other countries each summer.
We offer a Jewish camping experience rich in fun, friendship, adventure, and Jewish culture. Our facilities are terrific and
our activities and trips endless, but the Camp Barney experience is about so much more. Camp Barney is about the lifelong
friendships developed, the sense of independence and self-confidence gained, and the connection to Jewish identity
secured. All while our campers have the best summers of their lives.
We are seeking an Operations Director with strong organizational capabilities, a focus on risk management, effective

Director of Operations, Camp Barney Medintz
Manage the daily, seasonal, and annual operational logistics of Camp Barney Medintz with a focus on safety and
efficiency.
Responsibilities
· Interface with facilities team (both at CBM in Cleveland and in the office in Dunwoody):
· Managing progress / resource allocation on off-season projects
· Managing work order system during the summer
· In-camp laundry system
· Vendor research and price comparisons
· Oversee facility prep and takedown
· Supervise Camp setup
· Supervise Camp take down and prep for following summer
· Hire, train, supervise seasonal drivers and logistics staff
· Camper trips
· Staff trips
· In-person supply purchasing
· Support Kitchen and Food Service Director with planning for campouts, cookouts, and other off-site meals
· Supply delivery
· Stocking snack machines
· Manage fleet of purchased and rented vehicles
· Negotiate best pricing
· Managing vehicle decal/tag system including license plate registry
· Management of seasonal phones
· Special Teen programs:
· Develop 4 separate trips for our teen campers (3 day and 6 day for both 1st and 2nd session)
· Plan 4 separate trips, including negotiation and pre-payment
· Train seasonal staff who lead the trip
· Plan and execute “Solo” for teens, each session.
· Opening and Closing Day Logistics:
· Assist in management of four week opening and closing days
· Manage two-week and one-week opening and closing days
· Plan, hire, and organize buses from each of our areas that we serve
· Plan and execute opening day in Atlanta
· Plan and organize travel for campers who fly to camp
· Plan and organize buses for staff who fly to camp
· Interface with our camper luggage partners
· Provide support for other systems including:
· Weather monitoring
· Director on call
· Nighttime supervision
· EAP development
