How you can make a bigger difference: 


 


The Payroll Clerk functions in a line capacity performing general Payroll Clerk duties under the direction of the Payroll Coordinator.  The Payroll Clerk performs all of the duties normally associated with the title Clerk with some additional Payroll responsibilities. He or She must have good general math skills and knowledge of Payroll functions.


 


Some responsibilities include but not limited to:



  • Review and process address changes and tax forms

  • Match data entries with new hire documents for accuracy

  • Run new hire and termination reports for completeness

  • Review timesheets for new hire and termination hours

  • Field telephone calls

  • Update payroll records for direct deposit/pay card applications or garnishment instructions

  • Maintain payroll scanner and file in cabinet as necessary

  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests via phone, email or ticket system

  • Resolve  payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

  • Run and submit Social Security verification reports

  • Handle employees Dept. of Labor Wage inquiries

  • Run other general payroll reports

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

EDUCATION / TRAINING PREFERRED:



  • A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of (1-2) years of experience as a clerk OR Associates Degree and 2+ years of experience as a clerk in some payroll or accounting capacity.

  • Microsoft Office including Excel

  • Experience with electronic timekeeping systems, preferable Dayforce

  • Understanding of internal controls
