Preschool Teacher

The Preschool at the JCC of the East Bay (JCCEB) is a play based, emergent preschool program rooted in Jewish life and culture. You do not need to be Jewish to work with us!! Your position here at the JCCEB offers a unique chance to be part of a well-developed and highly regarded program and to work in a stimulating team environment with a diverse group of experienced professionals.

We are a non-profit organization with a year-round school schedule, August through August. You will serve children ages 2-5 years old years in a well-equipped, bright classroom, and an outside environment which includes a large playground and natural play areas in both the community and our mud kitchen. 

Basic Qualifications:

12 ECE units (24 units or BA in Child Development or ECE preferred) and at least 1 year of experience working with children 2-5 years old. If you do not have these units, but are willing to work towards them, we offer a stipend to cover this continuing education!

Start Date: 7/31/2024. Duties include (but are not limited to):

· Working closely with other classroom teachers to plan and implement curriculum.

· Classroom maintenance

· Some heavy lifting of 20 lbs.+

· Diaper changing and toilet training.

· Planning process based art activities and developing emergent curriculum, leading large group activities including circle time, conducting parent conferences, communicating skillfully with parents regarding their children's development and school experience.

Salary: The salary range is $22-25 an hour, depending on education, experience, and position, according to the salary schedules of the school.
