Job Duties Include:
- Under the direction of a licensed physician, directing and leading the care of residents using specialized nursing skills related to long term care.
- Demonstrating knowledge of and adhering to federal/state life safety codes, the Florida Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Practice for Long Term Care Nursing as well as legal, regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing and updating care plans, physician orders, MAR/Pharmacy profile and other records to ensure resident needs are met.
- Analyzing, evaluating, and reporting the needs of the residents appropriately.
- Coordinating, in cooperation with the nursing and facility leadership, ancillary health care and health education services for residents.
- Identifying resident problems, concerns, or issues and providing appropriate follow-up to ensure resolution.
- Supervising direct care staff and monitoring effective service delivery during assigned shift.
- Reviewing resident treatment and medication records to assure quality of care.
- Participating in the evaluation of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Completing required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Acting in compliance with regulatory and professional; standards and guidelines.
- Performing routine nursing services for residents as directed.
- Adhering to facility policies and procedures and participating in facility quality improvement and safety programs.
- Overseeing Falls Program and Pressure Sore Program for those residents on their team.
- Completing “point of service” documentation within the electronic medical record database.
- Demonstrating and supervising nursing assistants with adherence to strict standards of Infection Control and Prevention.
