Make a difference - join our Spiritual Care team!

We are seeking students or professionals interested in pursuing their Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Housed within Spiritual Care at TMH, our CPE Program provides students with the opportunity to learn and demonstrate their spiritual care-giving skills, develop their pastoral/spiritual identity, and explore their reflections on spiritual care ministry in a diverse setting. We offer both single unit internships and long-term residencies to help our residents meet their personal and professional goals.

 

 

2024 CPE Residency Program

 

Our CPE Residency Program for this year begins August 5, 2024 and ends August 1, 2025. Our 8 month, full-time CPE Program yields two units of CPE in a spring and summer semester with the potential to be accepted into the 2024-2025 yearlong residency program. Applicants must have one unit of CPE prior to admission.

 

We are offering 5 full-time positions with employee benefits. The salary for these positions is $35,568 annually with the opportunity to purchase benefits at employee pricing.

Early applications are encouraged. The application deadline is October 9, 2023. Orientation will start August 5 2024.

Requirements for Admission:

  • Successful completion of a first unit of CPE
  • Bachelor’s Degree.  Preferred: Graduate-level theological education from a CHEA accredited seminary
  • Completed and up-to-date ACPE application, including copies of both self and educator's evaluation
  • Successful onsite interview with TMH Admissions Committee
  • Payment of $25.00 application fee

Your Role in Our Mission:

The mission of our Spiritual Care team is to promote the value of the human spirit in the healing process for any patients, loved ones and TMH colleagues. 

  • Provide or make available spiritual, religious, and emotional care for patients and their families during hospitalization
  • Provide spiritual and emotional support for TMH colleagues
  • Serve as an educational resource for TMH colleagues
  • Participates in clinical pastoral education processes such as pastoral reflection, pastoral formation, and personal identity development, with a view toward pastoral and personal growth, integration and competence
  • Work toward the outcomes of Level II CPE articulated in the ACPE Standards and preparatory to certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Divinity, Religious Studies or related degree required; Master’s of Divinity or Master’s of Religious Studies preferred.

Required Experience:

  • One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • None
