We’ll pay you an annual salary of $70,000 to $75,000

About the Job


The Senior Accountant will be a key player in our nonprofit’s financial team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. This role involves overseeing the accounting functions, preparing detailed financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The Senior Accountant will also supervise two staff accountants, providing leadership and support to maintain a high standard of financial management within the organization.

You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of two staff accountants. Provide training, mentorship, and supervision.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reports and including research and analysis of variances.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Monitor budget to actual performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Research accounting guidance to ensure transactions recorded in compliance with GAAP.
  • Build and maintain reports utilizing accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Prepare and maintain the shared services allocation entries and methodology.
  • Assist with annual audits and tax preparation of Form 990 filings.
  • Create expense distribution sets annually for merchant and employment fees, such as SUTA and Worker’s Comp.
  • Oversee grant management and reporting.
  • Perform special projects as needed.
  • Oversee monthly reconciliation and updating of the balance sheet accounts schedules, including related party and intercompany transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly.
  • Assist other departments with reporting and as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.

Salary Description

$70,000 to $75,000 annually
