Thursday: 4:45-6:00pm
$12.00-$16.00/hr.
Job Summary: The swim team coach will lead or assist with preparing practices, setting up equipment for practices, coaching practices for a variety of ages/skill levels, teaching and development of competitive swim skills, providing support for occasional swim meets.
Responsibilities:
- The swim team coach will help develop workouts that focus on all four of the competitive strokes as well as building endurance and gaining knowledge of swim workouts
- The swim team coach must actively engage in helping to develop participants’ strokes
- The swim team coach will be professional and able to communicate effectively with members, guests, and co-workers
- The swim team coach will work directly with the Head Coach to help provide constructive feedback to participants
- The swim team coach will track attendance and progress of student’s times
- The swim team coach will arrive with enough time to prepare and set up for swim team
- The swim team coach must uphold the mission and values of the JCC.
Job Specifications:
- Swim team coaches must be 16 years of age or older, competitive swim background required
- Swim team coaches must possess a knowledge of the four competitive strokes as well as starts, turns, and finishes
- Swim team coaches must have the ability to maintain good relationships with other staff, volunteers, members, and the public.
- Swim team coaches must work successfully with a team as well as independently
- Swim team coaches must show an interest in working with children, adults, and teens and show significant evidence of emotional maturity, good character, excellent judgment, professionalism, integrity and leadership abilities
- Uniform requirements – swim suit.
Training:
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR Pro/First Aid, or Swim Instruction from nationally recognized organizations are preferred, but not required.
- Swim Instructors will participate in all offered trainings and in-services
